I think the most interesting part of this post is Deep Voice's critique. I hadn't thought of the piece of artwork that way, but now that DV's described it, I understand my own reaction to the painting. I think DV should critique all the artwork that shows up.

I've already made it clear that I absolutely love this guy's body and I wish he would show his face and talk dirty. Of course, being the oddball which I most certainly am, I immediately noticed that he finally hung the painting which was on the floor in his last video which appeared on this site.

Well, Cowandabunny, I think the composition is very intriguing and the distribution of colors find their own balance and harmony. It's also a masculine painting that shows intelligent.

HOWEVER, I think the marroon rectangle which not only is the major design feature but ties the edges together; looks bloody and unappealing. No matter what the intent of the painter, it is how it is perceived by the viewer where Art really begins.

Please, if you read this site and all the praise that goes with it, just think about or better, imagine that bloody marroon rectangle being in a turquoise or aqua. Or even bubble gum pink. (But turquoise would be best!) I believe the contrast would both startle and intrigue the viewer,in a more pleasing manner, yet forcing them to analyse the color combinations exacted by the surrounding colors, especially the mauve/lavender block in the upper right hand corner, which to my eye is the only spot where one's mind can rest.

I do have my M.F.A. from one of the best schools in the country and I beg whoever painted that piece will listen because there is talent there. As is, it can too easily be dismissed as being bloody and less than what it could be.

Art aside, I'd do you any day of the week! Maybe six times a day if you could keep up!
