The 200th issue of X-Men hits stores today. I remember being 15 in 1991 and how excited I was when the first issue came out. Chris Claremont & Jim Lee had a great run on Uncanny with storylines featuring Genosha, Rogue in the Savage Land and the X-Men off in space. X-Men was the pinacle of their popularity and the height of the 90's comics boom. I remember my dad taking me to the comic shop and being so excited picking out which one of the 4 covers I wanted to buy.

I still HAVE that issue in a box somewhere. I really should get around to selling my collection.

That was a great time in Marvel comics. I miss waiting eagerly for the new issues to come out.

Hmm, I was 23 then, and in my opinion, the pinnacle of the X-men had already passed. The pinnacle to me, was during the John Byrne days at Uncanny, including the Hellfire Gang, the Dark Phoenix sags, Jean's suicide, and Days of Future Past. When Paul SMith was the artist for a short time a few years later, was a bit of a rebirth. But nothing since has come close.
HUGS...
